About The Author

Dan Williams grew up in the remote Southern Illinois hills, about one hour from Kentucky. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Illinois University, his Physician Assistant degree from Touro College in New York City and his Doctorate in clinical psychology from Forest Institute of Professional Psychology. It was not the degrees in academia that proved to be the motivator for aiding others. There is no better source for learning than life trauma and experiential learning. Too many individuals rely on the credentials to fill up their emptiness and tout these credentials as an ego extension.

Learning from Native American elders, traveling and discussing existential psychology with many professors, and focusing on life trauma gave Dr. Williams a much different perspective on what illness is and what effective treatment is.

It was through his own experience with sex abuse -when he was victimized at an early age by a cousin – that proved in retrospect, to be a motivator to not only help others, but also become a strong advocate of those who are victims of all life traumas. In 2008, he wrote “Above His Shoulders” an autobiographical account of his sex abuse and how he survived emotionally, focused on giving back to others. He is currently completing his second book called, “Rant” - One Man’s Perspective on Healing, Politics, Religion, and Medical Atrocities of the Human Condition.”

His controversial views are truthful and to the point. His therapeutic views are assertive and hopeful. Dr. Williams wants individuals to ponder and contemplate their lives, and not become complacent with daily rituals. His frequent motto is, ” We are on this earth for two reasons; to teach our children the best we know how, and to give back to others. Life is short. We must make the most out of each day we have. Peace and Healing is exactly that; an educational site, teaching that one can live life peacefully and find healing so happiness will ensue. With happiness comes giving back to others and an important move towards an unselfish path in life

He realized you cannot make it in life alone. Peace and Healing as well his own happiness is not without assistance. His son Kyle is the technological wizard as well as his confidant for helping with his second book, his daughter Jaci, an inspiration, to never give up in life as she has proven that from the day she was born. His good friend Justin is a lesson in perseverance, despite hardships there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.Craig, his close friend, is an inspiration for many topics, which absolutely none are taboo, thus motivates his quest for truth. Christina his future wife, a muse beyond compare, and the most reliable best friend one could ask for. Her ability to consistently see the positive and sharing her naturalist views not only inspire but bring peace to his life. When in doubt ask for help, false pride is a delusion of arrogance, ask for help, life is easier when implementing humility.

Dr. Williams currently works in an urgent care facility in Northern Illinois, treating patients medically as well as counseling patients who have experienced life trauma.
